Are you considering relocating to the South Hill of Spokane and trying to decide if the move will be worth the inconvenience? In this blog, I will share five reasons why I love the South Hill and why the move will not only make your life more convenient but improve it overall. Hello, I am Desiree Renshaw, a top-producing realtor in Spokane, WA, helping families reach their real estate goals.
Number One
Outdoor recreation. There are parks galore, hiking and biking trails, aquatic centers, and golf. Three of the most famous parks in Spokane reside on the South hill, including Manito, Cannon Hill, and Comstock Park. Manito Park alone covers 90 Acres and includes playgrounds, a splash pad, a rose garden, and so much more. If you love to hike or mtn bike, the High Drive trails boast a 9.7-mile loop with views and paths for all skill levels. Finally, for all of you golfers out there, Manito Golf and Country Club is the only private course in all of Spokane and if a private course isn’t your jam, three fantastic public courses are a short commute.

Number Two
Mature neighborhoods. The beauty of the South Hill neighborhoods is undeniable. Woven throughout lush boulevards are incredible historic mansions, charming bungalows, mid-century modern homes, and ranchers galore. The neighborhoods are plush with mature trees and adorned with detached sidewalks. Finding anything cookie cutter is nearly impossible.
Number Three
Ah, the local restaurants. There are currently 27 locally owned restaurants within a 2-mile radius. So in a matter of minutes, I can be to a neighborhood coffee shop, such as Rockwood Bakery, a fantastic brewery like Perry Street Brewery, or a fine dining experience at Luna where you will certainly run into at least ten people you know.
Number Four
The proximity. Talk about convenience. Need a hospital visit? Sacred Heart, and Deaconess, are both only minutes away. Taking a vacation? 16 minutes to the Spokane International airport. Want to enjoy a day downtown at the newly renovated riverfront park? Only 8 minutes away. Even grocery shopping is easy with so many stores to choose from. However I highly recommend checking out The Rocket Market, a corner store gas station, organic grocery store, and wine shop all in one. It is so unique. You have to see it for yourself.
Number Five
No traffic. What a way to increase your daily joy. Seriously, in the nine years, I have lived on the South Hill, I have never been stuck wasting time in traffic. Just think of the extra time you can spend sleeping in, enjoying the sunshine, or with your loved ones simply by avoiding traffic.
